Emerging Artists' Touring Exhibition (EART)
Each year, VSA Michigan solicits artwork created by youth and adults with disabilities for the annual Emerging Artists' Touring Exhibition. Submitted works are juried by distinguished artists, arts teachers, and arts administrators throughout the state. The exhibit travels to galleries, libraries, community centers, and conferences throughout Michigan for one year. Work chosen for inclusion is based on quality and an interest on the part of VSA Michigan to showcase an array of media by artists of different ages, abilities, and geography.
At the time of adjudication, jurors also select two pieces by youth that will be submitted for consideration at the CVS Caremark All Kids Can CREATE! exhibit hosted in partnership with VSA - The International Organization on Arts and Disability. One piece is selected from each state for this national exhibit, and the young artists are honored with an opening reception in Washington, DC.
