VSA arts of Michigan is a member of the international network of VSA arts, an affiliate of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. VSA arts promotes arts, education and creative expression involving children and adults with disabilities, thereby strengthening the human spirit and improving the quality of life for all.

Established in 1977, VSA arts of Michigan demonstrates the need for arts education and increases opportunities for experiences and training within educational and community programs for individuals with disabilities.

Today in Michigan, over 25,000 individuals per year have benefited from VSA arts of Michigan programs and events that take place in schools, hospitals, nursing homes, arts and community centers throughout the state. We provide direct assistance to our Districts serving local committees across the state in the areas of program development, fundraising and community networking.

VSA arts of Michigan received the VSA arts National Award for Excellence in Programming for its model artsJAM Gallery & Studio program.

VSA arts of Michigan is a recipient of the Governors' Cultural Organization Award, sponsored by ArtServe Michigan.
